Installing Flex-Able
Installing Flex-Able is a simple, seven-step procedure.
- Step One:
Put the plug-in 'Net.Dreams Flex-Able' in your server software's 'Plug-ins' folder.
- Step Two:
Put the folder called 'FADocs' in your server's root directory. (This isn't strictly necessary,
but the documentation contained within the folder needs to be activated by your server in order
to function).
- Step Three:
Place the extensions from the '-->Extensions' folder in you system:extensions folder.
This includes the folder called 'Net.Dreams Flex-Able Additions'- put this whole folder in
your system's extensions folder.
- Step Four:
Place the 'pi_admin.flex-able' folder into your server software's root folder.
This contains Flex-Able administration for system administrators only.
- Step Five:
Make a copy of the '.admin' folder, and place it in your server's root folder.
This folder contains sub-administration controls for each virtual host, so you will be needing
un-modified copies for each host on your server. The root copy you just made will control counters, rotation,
date formats and their associated passwords for the virtual host at the root.
- Step Six:
Quit and re-start your server software.
- Step Seven:
Copy the License Key from the Flex-Able Readme, and paste it into the document located
at http://www.yourserver.com/pi_admin.flex-able -While you're there, check
out the Readme. It will save you time.
Important Note:
You will not be able to use the MAIL features of Flex-Able unless you have installed the plug-in 'Net.Dreams MailAgent.' Any
version of MailAgent will support Flex-Able's MAIL features, but you will need a copy of 'MailAgent Pro' if you wish to test Flex-Able
with PGP encryption. If you wish to
install a demo version of MailAgent, you can download it from
http://www.netdreams.com/mailagent.
For MailAgent installation procedures please refer to the MailAgent documentation
(included with MailAgent download).
